Thomas Messersmith, 72, of Brookfield, passed away Friday evening, November 15, 2019, at Sharon Regional Health System, with family by his side.
He was born April 24, 1947 in Sharon, the son of Gerald and Leota Allen Messersmith.
Tom was a Badger High School graduate.
He retired from Westinghouse, where he worked as a laborer for 20 years.
He was a member of the Hartford United Methodist Church.
Tom enjoyed motorcycles, which he road raced in the middle weight class at Nelson Ledges in 1978, and collecting die-cast collectables.
He is survived by his wife, Debbie Steele Messersmith, whom he married May 24, 2013; a daughter, Michelle (Mark) Clapper of Elizabethtown, Pa.; a son, Dave Messersmith of Youngstown; four sisters, Linda (Joe) Ross of Cortland, Nancy (Gary) Phillips of Jefferson, Shirley (Stan) Evans of Hartford and Barb (Rick) Black of Brookfield; a brother, Dan (Becky) Messersmith of Hartford; a very special niece, “Kenny”; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Karen Messersmith.
