Sondra D. Taninecz, 76, of Hartford, passed away Thursday afternoon, June 4, 2026, at Sharon Regional Medical Center.
She was born September 18, 1949 in Youngstown, the daughter of Howard and Lillian Taylor Davis.
She was a 1967 graduate of Girard High School.
Sondra taught in the workshop at the Fairhaven Programs. Later, she sold Avon and babysat in the community. She raised and showed prize winning Holland Lop rabbits. She and her husband raised a beautiful garden. She was a great back scratcher, just ask Neal.
She is survived by her husband, Charles Taninecz, whom she married November 13, 1973; a daughter, Kimberly (Richard) Dillen of Charlotte, NC; a son, Charles (Christina) Taninecz of Champion; five grandchildren, Andrew Bottar-Dillen, Joseph Taninecz, Joshua Taninecz, Justin Taninecz and John Talkington; one great-grandson, Neal Bottar-Dillen.
The family would like to thank a very special niece, Mandy Clark Simmons, for all that she did to help with Sondra.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the Animal Welfare League of Trumbull County, 812 Youngstown-Kingsville Rd.. Vienna, Ohio 44473 in Sondra's name because of her love of cats.
In lieu of services, the family will have a private gathering at a future date.
