Ruth E. Brugler, 96, of Burghill, passed away Monday afternoon, June 5, 2023 at U.P.M.C. Horizon-Greenville Hospital E.R.
She was born September 28, 1926 in Warren, the daughter of Charles and Mabel Lynn Weller.
She attended Youngstown College for one year. She then worked at First Federal until she married Robert Brugler and became a farmer’s wife and a mother.
She was a member of the Orangeville United Methodist Church where she was a member of the choir. She was a treasurer for the church and for the U.M.W. She also belonged to the Orangeville Literary Club, the Hobby Club and several card clubs.
Ruth enjoyed crafting, doing all sorts of puzzles, sewing, knitting, crocheting, needle point, genealogy and playing the piano. She enjoyed writing poetry, having one published.
She married Robert E. Brugler on April 25, 1953. He preceded her in death on December 29, 2015.
She is survived by three daughters, Marsha (Neal) McCormick of Chesterland, Janis Sommer of Stow and Donna (Carl) Apperson of Grove City, OH; two sons, Alan (Nancy) Brugler of Omaha, NB and Glenn Brugler of Burghill; eight grandchildren, Alexandra (Travis), Zachary (Katie), Kelly (Matthew), Timothy (Julie), Joseph, Carole (Brandon), Rachel and Kyle; five great-grandchildren, Nathan, Eleanor, William, Morgan and Tripp; and a sister, Marilyn (Richard) Leiby.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; a son-in-law, Dennis Sommer and a half-brother, Harold Weller.

Relatives and friends may call at the Orangeville United Methodist Church, 7850 Stateline Rd., Burghill, Ohio 44404, on Saturday, June 10, 2023 from 1 to 3 p.m. with the funeral service to follow at 3 p.m. with Rev. Ron McIlvaine officiating.
Burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery at a later date.
