Phyllis J. Mott

Phyllis J. Mott, 81, of Hartford, passed away in the comfort of home and family Saturday morning, October 10, 2020.

She was born February 11, 1939 in Sharon, Pa., the daughter of Wilburt and Violet Palmer Hughes.

Phyllis was a homemaker.

She quietly served in many capacities at her church, Pleasant Valley Church in Niles.  She was involved in the children’s ministries of all ages.  She was part of the Women’s Council Board and was part of the Pleasant Valley Café after church, serving coffee and donuts.  She worked the bereavement dinners.  She was a prayer warrior.  Her greatest desire was that her family and church family would know the Lord.  She was always making food for everyone.  She was well known for her homemade pizzas.

Phyllis is survived by her husband, Earl Mott, whom she married February 16, 1957; a daughter, Barbara Kroner of Liberty; two sons, Paul Mott of Hartford and Larry (Denise) Mott of Brookfield; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; three sisters, Barbara Thompson of Hubbard, Kathy Lamont of Farrell, Pa. and Marilyn Uncapher of Liberty; and a brother, Thomas Hughes of Hartford.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Connie Attisano; a brother, Jackie Hughes and a grandson, James Robert Kroner.

Friends and relatives may call at the Pleasant Valley Church, 2055 Pleasant Valley Rd., Niles 44446, on Thursday, October 15, 2020 from 3 to 4 p.m.  Social distancing will be observed and masks won.

The funeral service will follow at 4 p.m. with Pastor Bill Sawtelle officiating.

Burial will be in Hartford Township Cemetery.
