Larry Bates

Larry Bates, 83, off Vernon, passed away Wednesday morning, April 10, 2024 at his residence with his family by his side.

He was born December 2, 1940 in Sharon, the son of Leon and Cora O’Dell Bates.

He was a Vernon High School graduate and a member of the former Vernon United Methodist Church.

Larry was a farmer and also worked at Packard Electric as a production worker.

He is survived by his wife, Donna Eckenrode Bates; a daughter, Darla Bates of Vienna; a son, Larry Bates of Brookfield; four granddaughters, Heather Rodgers, Kamila McQuaid, Shaney Bates and Brianna (Connor) McMahon; and a brother, Duane (Lori) Bates of Augusta, West Virginia.

Services were held for Larry at Galloway-Onstott Funeral Home, Hartford, of Tuesday, April 16, 2024.

Burial was in Westview Cemetery in Vernon.
