Jesse Maybee, 77, of Burghill, passed away Wednesday morning, October 23, 2019, in the comfort of his home.
Jesse was born April 3, 1942 in Sharpsville, Pa., the son of Jesse and Blanche Mitcheltree Maybee.
He was a graduate of Hartford High School and was in the Navy from 1960 to 1964, during the Cuban Crisis. He was stationed at Newport, R.I. and on board the U.S. Willis A. Lee.
He retired from Delphi in Warren after working 32 years as a laborer.
He was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Kinsman. He married his wife, Sandra Kocis, at this church on October 17, 1964. They were proud that they just celebrated their 55 anniversary.
Jesse enjoyed hunting and was a big fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and Ohio State football. But his greatest love was his family and his grandchildren
He is survived by his wife, Sandra Kocis Maybee; a son, Michael Maybee of Fowler; three grandchildren, Lauren, Olivia and Andrew Maybee ; three sisters, Betty Loyd of FL, Darla Martin of Youngstown and Lee Barker of GA; and two brothers, Elton (Nancy) Maybee of Niles and Richard Maybee of Austintown.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his step-father, Clair Potter, who helped raise him; a daughter, Sharon Maybee; a brother, George; and two infant sons.
Friends and relatives may call at Galloway-Onstott Funeral Home, 3451 St. Rt. 7, Hartford, OH, on Friday, October 25, 2019, from 4 to 7 p.m.
On Saturday, October 26, 2019, a short prayer service will be at 10:15 a.m. at the funeral home followed by an 11 a.m. mass at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 6397 St. Rt. 87, Kinsman. Fr. Michael Mikstay, Capt., CHC, U.S.N. Ret., will officiate.
Burial will be in All Souls Cemetery, Cortland.
