Harold John Wilson or “Willy”, 81, of Fowler, passed away Wednesday, April 29, 2026, at Heritage Manor in Youngstown.
He was born May 30, 1944 in Youngstown, the son of Eugene and Jeannette Baumiller Wilson.
After graduating from Badger High School in 1962, he joined the Army in 1964 to1966. He was part of the 101st Airborne Division serving in Vietnam. His wife says that the Airborne Ranger got his golden wings.
He retired in October 2003 after working 33 years at General Motors in Lordstown as an assembler.
Harold never met a stranger and he would help anyone who needed help. He enjoyed attending sports events of his children and grandchildren and riding his Harley. He and his wife loved to travel, their favorite trips were to Mt. Rushmore and the Caribbean. Last year, they completed his bucket list by going to Hawaii.
He is survived by his wife, Jonette Patricia “Trish” Roth Wilson, whom he married February 23, 2001; daughter, Jessica (Jonathan) Dye of Palm Harbor, FL; sons, Michael (Sharri) Groover o Niles, John Wilson of CA and Christopher (Christina) Bell of Sharpsville, PA; grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Morgan, Vincent, Stella, Asher and Jonathan Harold (to be born in June) Dye and Leon Smith II; Joshua and Michael Groover; Chase Bell; Devyn Bell; and Bianca, Hayden and Jaxon Carrico; special niece, Abigail Hodge; special nephews, Jacob Hodge, Remington and Orion Roth and brother, Gary Wilson of Howland.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Beverly Hayes and son, David Bell.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, May 9, 2026 with visitation with the family from 3 to 5 p.m. and a funeral service at 5p.m. at the Galloway Onstott Funeral Home, 3451 St. Rt. 7, Hartford, OH 44424.
Interment will be in Hartford Township Cemetery at a later date.
