Betty J. Burnett

Betty J. Burnett, 86, of Burghill, passed away at home with her family by her side on Tuesday morning, August 30, 2022.

She was born May 22, 1936 in Sheakleyville, PA, the daughter of Arthur and Esther Bailey Stevenson.

She was a 1954 graduate of Jamestown High School.

She retired in 1999 from the U.S. Postal Service after working 23 years in the Hubbard, Youngstown and Hartford post offices.

She married Charles W. Burnett on June 19, 1954.  He preceded her in death on May 9, 2009.

Betty attended the Hartford Community Church and enjoyed traveling and her family.

She is survived by two daughters, Paula (Douglas) Eastman of Ocean Pines, Maryland and Tammy (Tim) Smith of Burghill; three sons, Jeff (Deena) Burnett of Hermitage, Gordon (Pat) Burnett of Burghill and Michael (Stephanie) Burnett of Fowler; fourteen grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; and a brother, William (Maureen) Olson of Texas.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Richard Olson; and a daughter-in-law, Sandra Burnett.

Friends and relatives may call at the Galloway Onstott Funeral Home, 3451 St. Rt. 7, Hartford on Saturday, September 3, 2022 from 10 to 11:30 a.m.

The funeral service will follow at 11:30 with Pastor Gary Meikle officiating.

Burial will be Dugan Cemetery, Fowler, Ohio.
