Robert E. Byers, 88, of Burghill, passed away Saturday evening, March 16, 2019, at home with his loved ones.

He was born November 27, 1930 in Youngstown, the son of Elmer and Frances Brainard Byers.

He retired as a tool grinder after working 36 years at American Welding in Warren.  He also worked eight years at Glunt Metals in Warren.

Robert attended Hartford United Methodist Church.

He enjoyed watching NASCAR and his Church family.

October 14, 2008 he was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Taylor Byers, whom he married October 3, 1952.

He is survived by his daughter, Laura Byers and Gary Vendemia of Burghill.

He was also preceded in death by his son, Scott Byers, in 2017.

Friends and relatives may call at the Hartford United Methodist Church, 6846 St. Rt. 305, Hartford, on Wednesday, March 20, 2019, from 11 a.m. to noon.

The funeral service will follow at noon with Rev. MaryAnn Rufener officiating.
