Gladys F. Walker

Gladys Fae Walker 77 of Burghill, OH, passed away November 2, 2021 at Sharon Regional Medical Center in Sharon, Pennsylvania.

One of 10 children, Gladys was born November 5, 1943 to Hoyt Blackburn Snyder and Gatha Mae Gandee in Gandeeville, WV. She graduated from Walton High School Class of 1961 and after receiving her degree from Mountain State College in Parkersburg, WV she started her career working for Johns Manville in Vienna, WV. She was married October 27, 1963 in SC to Franklin Morgan Walker who preceded her in death May 18, 2008. They were married for 44 years. She was a homemaker and enjoyed spending time with family. She was a long-time member of the Hartford Community Church where she served as Secretary, Sunday School Teacher, Deaconess and Preschool Treasurer.

She was preceded in death by 2 sisters and three brothers: Cora Elizabeth Snyder, Earl (Thelma) L. Snyder, Ernest Harold Snyder, William Gilbert Snyder and Mary (Rodney) L. Ray-Cogar. She is survived by three sisters and one brother: Freda (Russ) M. Hunt of Parkersburg, WV, Dorothy (Roy) E. Davis of Saint Albans, WV, Harry (Joann) B. Snyder of Washington, WV, and Janet (Charles) S. Holden of Marietta, OH.

She was also preceded in death by one grandchild: Joshua Franklin Walker.

She is survived by her four children Guy (Sandy) F. Walker, Jeri (Douglas) L. Burns both of Fowler, OH, David B. Walker of Burghill, OH, and Billy (Jody) M. Walker of Sharpsville, PA, six grandchildren; Stefanie (Lee) Barnes of Pensacola, FL, Chelsea (T.J.) Yeager of Fowler, OH, Caleb (Frida) Hawk of Campbell, OH, Paige Walker of Kinsman, OH and Ina Walker and Alexander Walker both of Sharpsville, PA, five great-­grandchildren; Kalie Na tale of Ft. Mill, SC, Na than Adams, Evan Adams, Ava Yeager, Rowan Yeager, Sydney Barnes and Jake Barnes. She also has one more great-grandchild on the way.

Friends and relatives are welcome to attend a celebration of life service to be held Saturday, November 27, 2021 at 1:00 PM, at the Hartford Community Church, 3312 State Route 7, Hartford, Ohio, where the Reverend Gary Meikle will officiate.
