Elizabeth “Betty” Wells, 87, of Cortland, formerly of Vernon, passed away Friday evening, February 19, 2021, at Cortland Health Care.
She was born April 9, 1933 in Johnston, the daughter of Emil and Jeanette McCallum Jaster.
She was a graduate of Johnston High School.
She married Robert “Buck” Wells on August 16, 1951. He preceded her in death on January 8, 1977.
She retired from Joseph Badger School District, where she drove bus for 25 years.
She had attended the Cortland United Methodist Church.
Betty is survived by five sons, Gary “Chip” Wells (Pam Allen) of Mt. Juliet, TN, Larry (Pam) Wells of Vernon, Doug (Pam) Wells of Flat Rock, NC, Gail (Emily) Wells of Warren and Jeff Wells of Mills River, NC; sixteen grandchildren; twenty four great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Gordon Jaster and Dale Jaster, both of Johnston.
She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Dorothy and Freda, and a brother, Carl "Marvin" Jaster.
Following social distancing and required wearing of masks, friends and relatives may call at Galloway-Onstott Funeral Home, 3451 St. Rt. 7, Hartford on Wednesday, February 24, 2021, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. with Rev. MaryAnn Rufener officiating.
Burial will be in West View Cemetery, Vernon.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to the Cortland Fire Department, 194 Lattin St., Cortland, Ohio 44410.
