Douglas S. Hunkus, 50, of Kinsman, went to be with his Lord Tuesday evening, May 3, 2022, at home with his wife, Tracy, his sons and daughter-in-law, his grandson, his parents and siblings and his pastor by his side.
He was born May 5, 1971 in Warren, the son of Peter and Marjorie Woofter Hunkus.
He was a maintenance supervisor at Zekelman Industries in Warren.
He belonged to the Greater Youngstown Wisdom Center in Girard.
Doug was a drummer for the band, Radio Pulse, and a football coach. He liked to hunt, ride his motorcycle and being with his horses and Tammy, the mule. He liked spending time at the cabin in PA. The time spent with his sons, nieces and nephews was special, but the time spent with his grandson, Oliver, who was his pride and joy, was the best.
He is survived by his wife, Tracy Armstrong Hunkus, whom he married February 12, 1994; two sons, Isaac Hunkus of Kinsman and Caleb (Kenzie Drapola) of Hartford; his grandson, Oliver Hunkus; his parents, Peter and Marjorie Hunkus of Kinsman; a sister, Karissa Budny of Duncansville, PA and a brother, Peter Hunkus of Kinsman.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Lauralee Hunkus, and his grandparents, Stan and Grace Woofter and Peter and Adelaide Hunkus.
Friends and relatives may call at the Hartford United Methodist Church 6846 St. Rt. 305, Hartford, Ohio 44424 on Sunday, May 8, 2022, from 4 to 7 p.m.
The funeral service will be at the church on Monday, May 9, 2022, at 11:30 a.m. with Rev. MaryAnn Rufener and Pastor Jeff Swogger officiating.
Burial will be in Hartford Township Cemetery.
