Ailene Adele Beach

Ailene Adele Beach, 94, of Burghill, passed away peacefully at the home of her daughter and son-in-law Tuesday, September 6, 2022.

She was born November 11, 1927 in Gering, Nebraska, the daughter of Ralph A. and Ethel Bernice Foster Frailey.

Ailene graduated from Mitchell High School in 1946.  She attended Scottsbluff Jr. College, Chadron State College and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from Youngstown State University.

She married Clarence E. Beach of Burghill on December 19, 1952 in the United Methodist Church in Mitchell, NE.  They moved to Burghill in 1954.

 She taught school in Wyoming and Nebraska before moving to Ohio. In Ohio, she taught school in Southington, Cortland, Hartford, and Vernon Elementary.  She retired from the Joseph Badger School District in 1985 after teaching for 35 years.

She also enjoyed reading, embroidery, watching old westerns and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

She was a member of the Burghill Baptist Church for over 50 years, where she taught Sunday School and was an active member of the Women’s Missionary Society.

She is survived by a daughter, Rebecca (Richard) Gaines of Burghill; a son, Ralph (Christine) Beach of Kinsman; two grandchildren, Raymond (Haleigh) Gaines of Cleveland Heights and Rachel (fianc’e, Robert Elliott) Gaines of South Euclid; two great-grandchildren, Nolan Gaines and Theodore Gaines; a sister, Ann Marie (John) Plaster of Scottsbluff; and eleven nieces and nephews.

Ailene was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 42 years, Clarence E. Beach; a sister, Beryl (Norman) Harrington; two brothers, Kenneth (Dorothy) Frailey and Frank (Glenda) Frailey.

Calling hours will be 5 to 7 p.m. on Monday, September 12, 2022 at Galloway-Onstott Funeral Home, 3451 St. Rt. 7, Hartford.  An additional hour from 10 to 11 a.m. will be on Tuesday, September 13, 2022 with the funeral to follow at 11 a.m. with Rev. James Beach officiating.

Burial will be in Westview Cemetery
